October 1, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: Temecula Valley Bank has been a proud sponsor of Team Beat Cancer's RAAM (Race Across America). Team Captain, Rick Schulze, is the instrumental leader of the charitable classic that first brought our attention to this worthy cause. A grueling, cross country ride from San Diego to Atlantic City in less than eight days brings the nation's attention to the challenge faced daily by children with cancer. Community support of this fledgling but worthy cause is not only needed but imperative for the future of our nation's youth. Temecula Valley Bank is honored to give its endorsement to Rick Schulze and Team Beat Cancer's Race Across America as a meaningful and worthy cause. James W. Andrews Executive Vice President
October 3, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: Kontron and its staff members has been a proud sponsor of Team Beat Cancer's RAAM (Race Across America), called Team Magic Water for 2008. Team Captain, Rick Schulze, that also serves as the IT director at Kontron is impassioned to fight all causes of cancer after his wife was diagnosed over two years ago. He is relentless in his pursuit of raising awareness and funds for various cancer causes. He is the instrumental leader of the charitable classic that first brought our attention to this worthy cause. Rick feels that only the most grueling of events can properly do justice to fighting cancer. RAAM is a amazing cross country, non-stop ride from Oceanside CA to Atlantic City NJ in less than nine days; it will help bring the nation's attention to the challenge faced daily by children with cancer. Community support of this worthy cause is imperative for the future of our nation's youth. Kontron is honored to give its endorsement to Rick Schulze and Team Magic Water's Race Across AMerica as a meaningful and worthy cause. Good luck Rick and the Team ! Thomas Sparrvik CEO October 5, 2007 Very few endurance athletes have what it takes to compete the Race Across America. I began working with Rick Schulze several years ago, setting him up on his bikes and working with him on refinement of his biomechanics for improved cycling performance. Rick improved rapidly and last year, under less than perfect team conditions, built a solid ride in the two man RAAM. Rick's fitness, determination, goal orientation, philanthropic efforts are trully exemplary. With his established endurance momentum, I look for Rick to hit full stride for the `08 RAAM. We at johnhowardsports.com fully support his efforts and have realized gains from his constant networking of our services. I encourage other sponsors to work with Rick and feel certain that any sponsorship underwriting will be a complete win win for all parties. John Howard Co-Founder GABAR (RAAM) October 17, 2007 RAAM is not an easy proposition for anyone involved. It takes 100% pure dedication from everyone. This includes the organizing body, the resolve of the athletes who participate, friends who back them, and the absolute support of their families. Duane and Rick are exceptional individuals who as athletes together will again test the turbulent waters the constitute RAAM. Rick, now a wily RAAM veteran, came to cycling via a life changing experience, and found that he was able to express his joy, his grief and his ultimate zeal for life through cycling. RAAM is the ultimate cycling testament to all three, and there is no doubt completion is inevitable. Duane, a veteran in more ways than one, is a positive minded, can do person, and will call on his expert training from previous roles in his life to conquer RAAM. And if you ask him, it's already conquered. Together their dedication - total, their support - unconditional, their goal - success. All of us at Podium Cycles look forward to continued success by Duane and Rick, and toast to "dipping toes in the Atlantic.". Chris Evertsen Podium Cycles
October 30, 2007 FitnessVantage is proud to assist Duane Noel as he prepares for the two-man Race Across America. Duane has continuously shown he has what it takes for this extraordinary event. His determination, dedication, and discipline are ideal as an athlete and his desire to build his efforts around the needs of another make him the complete package. Pairing with Rick has proven to be a dream team of sorts, based on their willingness, work ethic, and cooperation. This team will achieve and impress and I have no doubt they will not only make everyone proud but inspire others because of their tenacity and their continued fight against the pediatric cancers neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma. What cause could be nobler? FitnessVantage is honored to endorse Team Magic Water in their Race Across America and encourage others to support them any way they can. Patrick Jak Owner, Coach, Trainer November 7, 2007 Having met Duane Noel at a race in southern California a few years back, I have watched him transform from a generally good athlete to a very specific goal oriented cyclist. His training, food intake and goal setting have all evolved exponentially, as have his positive race results. As his team captain for two years for the 24 Hour RAAM Challenge I have seen him rally to succeed when under great duress and have the utmost confidence that the incredible challenge of the full Race Across America will be met by this athlete with a great attitude, integrity and a joy of living life to the fullest. These are aspects of Duane that I have found in him via my experiences with him. In fun times, there is no one who will enjoy himself more; under physical duress (like the R.A.A.M.), there is no one I would be happier to have at my side. As a teammate Duane was one of the aspects that the whole team loved, as an athlete, he is uncompromising in his insistence for excellence. I believe that Duane's life will be that much richer for racing R.A.A.M., and I believe that R.A.A.M. will be better because Duane was a racer.
