MissionOur mission at 360Cycling is to raise awareness and funds to aid in the fight against cancer.When a cyclist takes on an epic cycling adventure and in the process, tries to promote a charity, it is very difficult to allow the funds and in-kind donations used for the ride itself as a tax deduction. The laws and how various charities and foundations are set up do not allow them in many cases to allow the money raised to come to them and then pay for expenses of the ride and therefore be tax deductible to the donor. Of course the idea is to allow excess funds to be used by the charity. In the process of fund raising, that particular charity is highlighted during these efforts. Our job is to give a way for cyclists to have their donations go to 360cycling, a 501(c)3 foundation. We then take their donations raised, and help them fund their efforts if they meet our criteria and the money left over from their fund raising efforts are donated to the cancer charity of their choice. There is a strict interview process that is held with the team. We want to ensure that they are serious about raising money and awareness for their charity and not simply using a charitable cause as a means to go on an epic bicycle ride. We ensure that even if the ride does not take place for some unknown reason, the charity is funded. |
